AT HOME WITH THE ELEMENTS
Quote: “If I take a moment to accept the disturbing uncomfortable feelings in my heart first, and be with them and allow them to move in some way, and then cultivate a sense of joy and be in my garden with that, I am planting joy and that is what grows. Being in the joy actually creates more joy.” ~ Corva Rose
In chapter 1, At Home with the Elements, I share one of my first memories of home, wildness, nature’s wisdom, and being held by my mother through the storm. I also interview guest Corva Rose, founder of Tree School in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Corva brings the radical act of compassion for self and others to gardening.
Tree School is a learning organization offering deep mentorship, habitat wisdom, and solid, high level gardening skills to community members in Albuquerque and beyond. They host playshops, run a 6-month Mentorship, and work with people in private sessions.
In my interview with Corva, we discuss climate grief and resiliency, aligning ecological passion with purpose, and planting compassion outside in our gardens and within ourselves in our everyday lives. Corva’s presence and sincerity stirs and awakens childlike curiosity and joy, as well as raw grief and hope for our Planet during ecological crisis and transformation.
Each episode ends with a Root Awareness meditation.
